Building on the success of earlier, more limited multiples—such as the rusted sculptures—this new body of work, limited to ten each, turns toward one of the most enduring forms in art history: the sculptural bust. For centuries, the 'bust' has served as a powerful vehicle for preserving identity, presence, and legacy, from the rulers of antiquity to modern cultural figures. In this series, the artist behind stikman applies his instantly recognizable imagery to this historic format, transforming a classical mode of portraiture into a contemporary expression of street culture and iconography. To add to this limited work, the artist has immortalized his spraypaint stencil work on both sides. The sleek, laminated surface—combined with the artist’s signature imagery and the classical bust format—continues his exploration of unconventional materials while reinforcing his long-standing interest in the repetition and evolution of form.
